iPhone 3G Officially Unlocked by the Dev-Team. Release Imminent!!

Here is something to be grateful for this holiday season.

Today our wonderful friends from the iPhone Dev-Team have finally done the impossible. They have gone and unlocked the iPhone 3G.  The unlock is not totally complete yet but they will be looking to release the unlock on December 31st!! Get ready guys!! This is a very exciting time for us 3G'rs that have been looking for this unlock. I personally am hoping the unlock works and maybe I can finally get some real speed on T-Mobile with the 3G network they have started to rollout in October. Or even if it is possible to convert over to Verizon since they have the best coverage in the US.

The team is currently packaging the app -- codename "yellowesn0w" -- into a user friendly app Pwnage Tool and QuickPwn. To read more and keep updated on the release head on over to the Dev-Team site. [read]

iPhone Nano to Arrive at Walmart for $99 in January???

XSKN posted some renders of a new case for what looks too be the much rumored iPhone Nano. Rumor's have been swirling about Apple selling $99 iPhone's at Walmart in January and this may be what verify's the rumors that have been swirling about a $99 iPhone.

IdealsChina is pretty sure it’s a real made-for Apple iPhone Nano case, though of course a case alone doesn’t guarantee that Apple is manufacturing a smaller iPhone. According to IdealsChina “It is the same height as the just release Nano but wider and thicker and with the same iPhone 3G contours. It has 3 sensors, camera, mirror screen but no 3G. Production will start on the 20th with 60,000 to 80,000/day pieces coming off the assembly line. Steve Jobs will be announcing it during the January MacWorld Show and you will find it in the stores shortly afterwards.”
